Retail dealers are not authorized to handle warranty claims.
II This warranty is limited to repairs or parts replacement necessitated by defective workmanship and/or materials. This warranty is further limited to damage which, in the opinion of Sylvan Woods, has not been occasioned by accident, misuse, abuse, improper assembly or weather conditions unusual to the owners' geographical area.
III Tannin is a chemical found in all wood, especially redwood and cedar. Tannin provides color to the wood and resists dry rot and insects. Alkaline substances, when moisture is present in the air, will draw the tannin out, causing black stains on the surface. Examples of alkaline substances are paint, fresh concrete and plaster, baking soda, chemicals in the air, and spa water that is out of balance. These stains may be cleaned using oxalic acid, found in many wood cleaners. Our finishes make the stain removal easy and the acid in the cleaner will not affect the finish.
The manufacturer has provided every possible solution to eliminate this possibility by drying the wood to its’ lowest moisture content and treating it with Superdeck Brand Wood Treatment finishes so that this difficulty should not occur. However, this is a chemical reaction that is not under our control and is not covered under the warranty.
Please note: Do not contact your dealer with warranty issues.
